Ajmeri Gate, Delhi Ajmeri Gate, one of the five surviving gates of Shahjahanabad, remains a quiet reminder of Delhi’s Mughal past. Named after the road leading to the city of Ajmer, it is located west of Delhi Gate along Jawaharlal Nehru Marg. . Simple yet striking in design, the gate features a single arch flanked by semi-octagonal turrets - a characteristic feature of 17th century Mughal architecture. Once an important entry point to the imperial capital, Ajmeri Gate now overlooks the constant movement of traffic and time. Source: Archaeological Survey of India
