National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organization set up in 1961 by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on Policies and Programmes for qualitative improvement in school education. The following constituent units of NCERT located in different parts of the country include: Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Ajmer Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhopal Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysuru North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE), Shillong Regional Institute of Education, Nellore Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs) Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs) located in the different regions of the country are major constituent units of NCERT. One of the major objectives of the NCERT and its constituent units is to organize pre-service and in-service training of teachers and teacher trainees and to develop and disseminate innovative educational techniques and practices. Courses Offered The following programmes are offered by the RIEs located at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, Shillong, and Nellore. The candidates seeking admission can apply to appear in the Common Entrance Examination (CEE)- 2026: Integrated M.Sc.Ed. (6-Year) Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. (3-Year) Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) (2-Year) Master of Education (M.Ed.) (2-Year) MA in Education Technology (2-Year) Eligibility Criteria Course Eligibility Criteria Master of Education (M.Ed.) (2-Year) Candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates) in any of the following programmes: (i) B.Ed. (ii) B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed. (iii) B.El. Ed. (iv) D.El. Ed. with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in both the programmes) Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) (2-Year) Candidates with at least 50% marks in either in the Bachelor's Degree and/or in the Master's degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities, Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or in any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Candidates who have secured less than 50% marks in their graduation (with a relaxation of 5% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates) but are eligible based on their Master's degree marks, must submit/enter their graduation marks in the online application form. The graduation aggregate marks (all subjects) will be considered for calculating the 40% weightage. Note: In such cases, the graduation marks will be considered for calculation under 40% weightage, in merit list. M.Sc. Ed.(6 years) Candidates seeking admission to M.Sc. Ed. (Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics) must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM); OR Physics, Chemistry, and Statistics (PCS) at 12th/+2 or any equivalent examination level. Candidates passed 12th/+2 or any equivalent examination in 2024, 2025 and appearing/appeared in 2026 only, are eligible to apply. Candidates must have passed 12th/+2 /+2 or any equivalent examination recognized by Board /University with at least 50% marks in aggregate of qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates). The qualifying examination should be recognized by University of Mysore (affiliating University for RIE, Mysuru). Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. (3-Year) Candidates having a post graduate degree in Science / Social Science / Humanities from a recognized Institute with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade (relaxation by 5% for SC/ST/PwD Candidates) are eligible to apply for admission into Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. (3-Year). M.A. in Education Technology (2-Year) Candidates must have obtained minimum 50% marks or an equivalent grade in graduation in any discipline (relaxation by 5% for SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates). CEE Syllabus Language Proficiency - Language proficiency indicates specific areas like comprehension, rearranging sentences, selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of the sentences, finding out equivalent meaning to the given Phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, antonyms, idioms, prepositions, tenses, articles. Teaching Aptitude - Teaching aptitude will cover specific areas like attitude toward education, children and teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities and group management; emotional and social adjustment; intrapersonal and interpersonal skills; and general awareness of contemporary issues pertaining to school education. Reasoning Ability - Reasoning ability indicates specific areas like verbal non-verbal reasoning, missing numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out, arranging the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusions, syllogism, logical problems, establishing relationships.
