The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). SECI plays a key role in the development and implementation of renewable energy projects, particularly in the solar and wind energy sectors, supporting India’s clean energy and sustainability goals.To encourage young talent and provide exposure to the renewable energy sector, SECI offers an Internship Programme for students from technical, management, and professional backgrounds. About the SECI Internship Programme The SECI Internship Programme is designed to provide students with practical exposure to the renewable energy sector and an understanding of SECI as an organization and potential employer. The programme offers structured, short-term, and supervised internships, where students work on meaningful assignments or projects within defined timelines.The internship aims to be mutually beneficial, helping students gain industry knowledge while supporting SECI’s ongoing work. Areas of Internship Internships are offered in the following areas related to renewable energy and allied sectors: Renewable Energy and Solar–Wind Hybrid Systems Floating Solar Projects Solar Manufacturing and Battery Energy Storage Systems Solar Park Development Solar Rooftop Projects and Off-grid Solar Solutions Duration of Internship The duration of the internship depends on the academic background of the student: Engineering / M.Tech students: 3 months or 6 months CA / CA (Inter) / CS / ICWA / ICWA (Inter) / CMA students: 6 months to 3 years MBA students: 7 weeks to 6 months Benefits of the Internship Stipend1. Internship duration less than 6 months: ₹8,000 per month2. Internship duration from 6 months to 3 years: ₹12,000 per month Certificate3. A Certificate of Internship is issued by SECI HR upon successful completion, confirming attendance and supervised work. Note: The internship does not include boarding, lodging, travel allowance, or any other form of compensation. Eligibility Criteria Students applying for the SECI Internship must meet the following requirements: Must be a student Must be pursuing or have completed: Engineering / Postgraduate / Ph.D. in Renewable Energy CA / CA (Inter) / CS / ICWA / ICWA (Inter) / CMA MBA in HR / Finance / IT / CC Must be enrolled in a recognized institution in India or abroad Must have their own laptop Must follow regular working hours and maintain professional conduct Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to protect SECI’s data SECI provides workspace and internet facilities. Desktop systems may be provided to CA, CS, CMA, and MBA interns based on requirement. Mode of Application The application process is online.
