অসমীয়া ভাষাৰ বাক্য · গঠনৰ ফালৰপৰা বাক্যক তিনিটা ভাগত ভাগ কৰিব পাৰি- (Sentences can be divided into three types according to their structures.) They are- 1. সৰল বাক্য (Simple sentence) 2. জটিল বাক্য (Complex sentence) 3. যৌগিক বাক্য (Compound sentence) ১। সৰল বাক্য (Simple sentence): A simple sentence contains the most basic elements such as a subject and a verb. These sentences are simple declarative sentences. E.g. ৰাতুলে ভাল গান গায়। (Ratul sings well) তেওঁ এগৰাকী চিকিত্সক। (He is a doctor) ২। জটিল বাক্য (complex sentence): A complex sentence has one independent sentence and one dependent sentence. An independent sentence expresses a complete thought and can be written separately. A dependent sentence does not express a complete thought and cannot be written separately without an independent sentence. e.g. মই যেতিয়া দেখিছিলোঁ ককা বাৰাণ্ডাত বহি আছিল। (Grandpa was sitting on the veranda when I saw him) ল’ৰাটোৱে যি খোজে মাক-দেউতাকে সকলো দিয়ে। (The parents provide everything the son demands) ৩। যৌগিক বাক্য (Compound sentence): A compound sentence consists of two independent sentences connected by conjunctions. e.g. সি ভাত খালে আৰু খেলিবলৈ ওলাই গ’ল। (He had rice and went out to play) মই তাইক মাতিছিলোঁ কিন্তু তাই নাহিল। (I invited her, but she did not come) Some more examples of simple, complex and compound sentences are given below. Simple Sentences (সৰল বাক্য) মই ভাত খালোঁ। (I had rice) ফুলপাহ ধুনীয়া। (The flower is beautiful) সূৰ্য পূব ফালে উদয় হয়। (The sun rises in the east) ৰামে ভাত খাইছে। (Ram has had rice ৰূপাই কথক নাচি আছে। (Rupa is dancing Kathak) জিতুৱে দোকানৰ সন্মুখত তামোল খাই আছিল। (Jitu was chewing betel nut in front of the shop) কপিলৰ চশমাযোৰ হেৰাল। (Kapil lost his spectacles) সুনীলৰ ভোক লাগিছে। (Sunil is hungry) Compound Sentences (যৌগিক বাক্য) শিক্ষকে বিষয়টো বুজালে আৰু আমি লিখিলোঁ। (The teacher taught the topic and we wrote it down) সি আহি পালে আৰু কাপোৰ ধুলে। (He arrived and washed cloths) সন্ধিয়া লাগিল আৰু চৰাইবোৰ বাহত সোমাল। (It was evening and the birds entered their nests) মায়ে কিতাপ পঢ়ি আছে আৰু দেউতাই পাকঘৰত ভাত ৰান্ধি আছে। (Mother is reading a book and father is cooking in the kitchen) মই ইমানকৈ পঢ়িলো কিন্তু একো বুজি নাপালো। (I studied a lot but did not understand anything) নীতা আহিল কিন্তু ভায়েকক নানিলে। (Nita came but she did not bring her brother) মোৰ এখন গাড়ী কিনিবলৈ মন কিন্তু হাতত টকা নাই। (I want to buy a car but have no money) মই তাইক ভাল পাওঁ কিন্তু তাই মোক ভাল নাপায়। (I love her but she does not) Complex Sentences (জটিল বাক্য) কালি যিজন ল’ৰা আহিছিল মই তাক আগৰ পৰাই জানো। (I know the boy beforehand who came yesterday) মই যিখন দোকানৰ পৰা কাপোৰ কিনো তুমিও তালৈ যাব পাৰা। (You can go to the shop from where I buy cloths) মই যাক বিশ্বাস কৰোঁ তেওঁকেই টকাখিনি থ’বলৈ দিম। (I will let the person keep the money whom I trust) আমি যেতিয়া ঘৰত নাছিলো মানুহজন আহিছিল। (The man came when we were not at home) যদিও সি চাবোনেৰে ধুলে টেবুলখন চাফা নহ’ল। (The table was not clean though he had washed it with soap) যিকেইজন ল’ৰাপথাৰত বহি আছিল সিহঁতেই হাঁহটো চুৰ কৰিলে। (The boys who were sitting in the playground stole the duck) যদি তেওঁলোকে নিমন্ত্ৰণ দিয়ে মই সভাখনলৈ নিশ্চয় যাম। (If they invite me I will go to the meeting for sure) মই যাৰ বাবে ইমান কষ্ট কৰিলোঁ তেৱেই মোক বুজি নাপালে। (The person for whom I put in so much effort did not understand me.
